livbud

Livbud has a clear vision and purpose to inspire balance and positive energy in the community. The creation of a positive visual identity as well as a comforting interior and exterior environment were critical to achieving this goal. The open-air space was inspired by the relaxed and natural environments of Baja and Southern California.

Most of the furnishings and fixtures were custom designed and include a variety of materials that harmoniously flow throughout the restaurant. Materials include repurposed lumber, ceramics, burlap, hot rolled steel, zinc, breeze block, clay tile, concrete and bio fabricated lighting.

To give the space a warm glow at night, we called upon local ceramicist, William Duvall to throw custom terra cotta shades that hang over the banquette and above the kitchen line.

The light shade cluster in the lounge area of Livbud are made entirely of mycelium and hemp. We fondly named the lounge the “mushroom den.”

We’re never afraid to get our hands dirty! Our custom sign for Livbud includes built in planters. A true first sign that plants are the focus at Livbud.
